It’s been a pretty phenomenal week for the HipPocket team. It started with a great article in the Dallas Business Journal by Danielle Abril titled The Pitch: Dallas’ HipPocket launches real estate private social network at TechCrunch. We formally announced the launch of HipPocket in the Apple App Store and the exciting news that after less than two weeks we have over 400 real estate agents signed up in Dallas with many more in other groups around the country.
It was an exciting week last week for HipPocket. We became the hottest startup in Dallas at the Tech Cocktail 14 Hottest Startups in Dallas showcase and pitch competition event at The DEC (Dallas Entrepreneurial Center).
When I first pitched the concept of HipPocket to my co-founder Clay Stapp last summer, the hypothesis was based on real estate agents using numerous communications methods to promote ‘pocket listings’ and client needs to each other, each causing them to often have the same conversation in multiple channels.
We are launching HipPocket to a small selection of cities initially, but our BHAG, our Big Hairy Audacious Goal, is to enable every real estate agent in America to participate. To do that we need the help of real estate agent communities all over America.
